Arsenal are closing in on Lille and Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes for a fee believed to be around £22m. The player is yet to complete his medicals.
The defender who has also been target of Napoli as potential long-term replacement of Koulibaly looks set to become the Gunners second signing.
However, in a shock twist, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United have made concrete bids for the player in the last few days. The player was expected to have completed his medicals yesterday but the last minute interest from Manchester United has delayed the deal.
Manchester United despite their clear interest in the player have not made an offer to Lille yet. Gabriel delayed the deal to see if Manchester United will make a solid bid to Lille for him.
So far, nothing has happened yet and until Manchester United or any other club offers improved terms to Lille and the player, the transfer to Arsenal will happen.
In other Arsenal news, Houssem Aouar is now midfield target of Mikel Arteta.
