David Silva looks set to join Italian giants Lazio on a three-year deal according to Italian transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano. The playmaker will sign the contract with the Italian club after the current Europran season ends.
Silva who joined Manchester City ten years ago from Valencia has been a fantastic and wonderful servant for the club. He made 309 appearances for the club in the Premier League and made 153 goal contributions(60 goals and 93 assists).
During his time at City, the Spaniard has helped the club win 4 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 5 League/EFL Cups and 3 Community Shields. He would be hoping to help them win the UEFA Champions League in his last season at the club.
Silva announced his decision earlier this year when he posted touching message to the club and fans. He wrote,"They have shown me and my family respect wherever we go and then on the pitch too. I am very grateful for all of this. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters, to the club, to the workers here at the club because they have made my life much easier and I am grateful for that. I will be Blue – Blue forever.”
The Premier League and everyone involved in English football will without a doubt miss David Silva. He will join Lazio who finished 4th in the Italian Serie A and qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League.
Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi would hope Silva can help close the gap with Inter Milan and Juventus.
