Tottenham have officially announced that they have completed the signing of Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for a fee for around £15m including add-ons. The Danish midfielder becomes Mourinho's first signing of the summer.
Speaking to the official Tottenham website after completing the deal, Hɵjbjerg said, "I'm very proud, very excited to be here. I just want to get going, meet everyone and play football." .
He continued further saying, "I think Spurs have fantastic players, a fantastic manager, a fantastic setup and i feel lucky and proud to be a part of it. I want to give my everything but I also want to learn a lot. "
Hɵjbjerg joined Southampton from Bayern Munich in 2016. He made 134 appearances and scored 5 goals for the Saint. His impressive performances lead to him becoming their club captain.
In a separate deal, fullback Kyle Walker-Peters who impressed on his loan stint at Southampton especially during the restart has joined them on a permanent deal from Tottenham.
Walker-Peters who is a product of the Spurs academy made 24 appearances for the club and scored once. He then joined Southampton on loan for more playing time before signing a permanent deal with them this summer.
